Let's Try this Again...We're Back!

It’s now July 2025, and I guess the title of my last blog, “We’re Back” wasn’t exactly accurate. We have been RVing, but in 2023 and 2024 our big trip plans were scuttled for shorter, simple getaways with family and friends. I’ve mentioned before that all too often we overlook those undervalued places just a short distance away. With that in mind, we stayed closer to home visiting favorites like Jonathan Dickinson State Park, old haunts like Salt Springs and the Space Coast, exploring Florida jewels new to us, such as Fort DeSoto Park, and returning to the north Georgia and western North Carolina mountains we love.

Earlier this year we checked off one of our nearby bucket list places, Talulah Gorge in Georgia. It definitely didn’t disappoint and we tested our rusty, hiking ability by trekking down to (and back up from) the iconic suspension bridge. It’s considered strenuous, but we conquered it and in the process rekindled an excitement for hiking.
Now we are anxious to truly get back on the road and head west to the places we’ve missed visiting these past couple of years. We’re ready to stretch these Florida, sea level legs (and Larry’s newest knee), retrace some of our favorite hikes, and find some new challenges. So I hope I don’t have to eat these words: Coming Soon, New Adventures with Larry and Barbi.
